Body Glove Iphone 5 Case
Body Glove Iphone 5 Case from RadioShack the day I got my iPhone 5. I bought it more as a temporary case until the Ballistics case that I want is available, but now thats I’ve used it for a week, I think I’m just going to stay with this case!
It’s thin! One reason I’m in no hurry to get the ballistics case is because I hate idea of having the “World’s Thinnest Smartphone” and putting a whale of a case on it. The i5 with this case on it is just slightly thicker than a bare 4s.
It looks awesome! I love the the rugged look of this case! Kinda makes me feel like a Navy Seal when I use it.
The materiel is perfect! It’s not another silicone case! It’s kind of like a fusion of plastic and rubber, there’s more flexibility than a normal plastic case, but it’s denser than a silicone case so it slides in and out of your pocket just as easy as the bare phone does. No more inside out pockets!
Great design! The ridges on the sides make it easy to grip the phone. I have been on a few runs with it just holding the phone in my hand and it never feels like its going to slip. The side of the case only covers over the aluminum sides so you don’t have to worry about using a case friendly screen protector.
Feels “trustworthy”! I have only dropped it a few times and that has been on the hard wood flooring at my house, but the phone was perfectly fine. I have not yet dropped it on the concrete to see if lives up to its “DropSuit” name(if you want to send me your phone I would be glad to test this), however I would not be too worried if I did drop it in a parking lot. The ridges on the side seem pretty durable and impact absorbing, and there is little extra thickness around the corners. The sides of the case extend about an 1/8th of an inch past the screen to protect the screen itself.
External buttons. The home button is on the screen so its not affected by the case. The lock button on the top is about as easy to get to as it is without the case. The volume and silence button are the only part of this phone that I am neutral about. These buttons fall between the ridges on the side making them not difficult to get to, but not as easy as the lock button. Just holding the phone your hands, the volume buttons are easy to get to with your other hand, but can be difficult to reach while talking on the phone. The silence button you basically have to use your other hand to turn on/off since its a slide button and not a push button. With that said though this does keep you from accidentally bumping your volume and silence buttons.
In summary, this is a great Body Glove Iphone 5 Case that you will not be disappointed by! I paid $25 plus tax at RadioShack for this case and I was happy with the purchase, so getting it for $10 less on Amazon is just the icing on this sweet black gel cake.

I’ve had mine Body Glove Iphone 5 Case for iPhone for a while now and I love it. Stitching has held strong even after some above average abuse. My gripe is , why not put a hole in the case? Having to take the phone out to take pictures is a pain in the ass.
Love mine and have had it since they were first available, but agree with needing to add a hole for the camera and flash. I took a leather punch and just added it myself and it works great. The interior lining of the credit card slots does have a tendency to rip out if you cram too much crap in each one but all in all I have abused the crap out of mine and have never had an issue with phone getting damaged or stitching coming out. The fact that I don’t have to carry a separate wallet is the best.
I think this is pretty damned clever.
YES, it prevents you from utilizing all the outlets on a power strip, and it prevents you from using your phone while it’s plugged in. I see it as an emergency situation case – phone running low on battery? Just quick plug it in to wherever you can so you can get a couple more hours of use out of it.
I don’t see the prongs being used on a daily basis, but I see the ability to occasionally tap into the grid when you need to as a huge selling point. Sure beats carrying around a charging cord that gets tangled on everything.
I could see this technology working as part of a case/battery combo like the Mophie Juice Pack. Your phone is super charged all day by the extended battery; when you go to sleep at night, you plug it into the wall, charging both the iPhone battery and the extra case battery. They might be more successful selling this idea to Mophie or figuring out a way to make the case an extended battery.
I wish case makers would stop being lazy. Design a case, “Specifically designed for the new iPad”. I am so tired of seeing cases designed for the iPad 2 and new iPad. They never fit. The new iPad is a little more fat than the iPad 2 so those cases are tight and don’t close the front cover well. Then put the case in an iPad 2 and it is lose and sliding around. I almost feel Apple trolled the case makers by making it too similar so they try and make a case that fits both.
I’ve never quite understood using cellphone cases. People talk about what a great design their phone has, then the first thing they do is slap it in a case and the only thing you can see is the screen. Why bother trying to make a phone nice and slim with glass all around if you need to keep it wrapped in rubber or silicone?
It is enough to make it go as fast it does, and if you’ve ever been hit by a hockey puck it’s quite a formidable force. It’d be safe to say dropping your phone on any surface within a reasonable height would be viable with this Body Glove Iphone 5 Case. No matter how you try to turn it, you will always have to sacrifice quite a lot of space with a removable battery. If you look inside the iPhone 4 you will see that it’s practically crammed (hell, they didn’t even have space for an antenna).
In order to make the battery replaceable you will firstly have to reorder all the internal components in the device so that the battery will be accessible at all.
First, it’s Google I/O. Posting this now is like winning the Special Olympics, you’re still special. Like your saying I wonder why they don’t announce that Android stuff at misword. I would say that for a while, iOS will have more market space in cars than android. Tons of people use IPT’s and iPad for in dash displays. Also, if you kept up with gadgets in general you would know gingerbread is getting an iOS port too, that was yesterday. Or more parts leaks, the apps for downloading hundreds of Facebook pictures and the new iOS game by bungie (apparently called crimson which is supposed to destroy infinity blade as the best looking mobile game bar none)
Secondly you will have to add some margins between the battery and the internal components so that the user doesn’t damage the phone when changing batteries.
Thirdly, you will have to add even more amount of padding on the battery itself so that it can be safely removed without blowing up (modern batteries catch fire when punctured). Then there are the connectors on the battery and the phone that take up space.
And lastly, there’s the actual cover on the phone that needs to be removable which also wastes some space.
Most likely those Samsung and LG smartphones you are thinking about have a lot smaller batteries and thereby shorter battery length than what they would have had if they had non removable batteries.
