iphone 5 bumper case
It is true that there hasn’t been official iPhone 5 bumper cases ready right away this year, and Apple explained their reasons behind this, which is thanks to the improved design that is meant to deliver much better protection from the moment you open the box. We’ve had the iPhone 5 since launch and really tried hard not to want a bumper case, this had been our choice on the 4S, although seeing marks slowly appear on our lovely iPhone 5 has resulted in a desire for some sort of case to offer that added protection.
At first we thought that adding a case to the iPhone 5 would hide the new design, which might help the phone look like its previous model, although after using the iPhone 5 for more than a week we can see that the changes are much more and not hidden by a bumper case. It is fair that a few cases do bulk up the thinner and lighter iPhone 5, but bumper cases are certainly one of the few that try and keep the design unchanged as much as possible.

My Mom pre-ordered an IPhone 5 for me for Christmas, they said it would ship on Dec. 28, but the order status still shows that it hasn’t shipped, yet, and the “backordered” date on the item’s web page keeps slipping.
I have the iphone 5 bumper case. I find myself not using the case at all. While i give them credit for a fairly slick implementation, and it seems to work with no flaws, it just adds to much bulk to the iPhone. In addition, it doesn’t feel as nice as a typical keyboard slider, it feels slightly less stable. I might find i use this on trips, but for now, it’s saying on the shelf. Maybe it’s an affectation of the photographs, but the printing on the keys looks amazingly irregular. Look at the “5″ and the “8″ for example.
It would be even better if there would be some universal standards for accessories, so they could be used with multiple devices and mobile operating systems. Then i didn’t have to think too much about changing to a new OS or upgrade the phone, unlike now where we already got accessories which only works with one.
I am as sick of all these good ideas with terrible poorly-made garbage as an excuse for solid electronics. Apple could make one of these and sell it for $150 and it’d be amazing. We need to get the guys who did the iPod Nano watch strap on this: minimal
Even for i-Accessories, many might become useless with the new iPhone coming out, if rumors about the connector are true. And maybe even the form factor will prevent docking
So you still have to carry the projector part when you want to use it. An external, MHL or HDMI-connected Pico projector would be higher quality and have better cooling — and work with your iPad, next iPhone, friend’s android/notebook PC, etc.
And I don’t see that size of the package is really an advantage. Acting as an external battery is about the only plus, and for that you can just get an external battery pack or carry a travel power pack. IPhone’s can use USB power wall warts for power, can’t they? I carry one 4-port USB wall wart that is smaller than a cigarette pack and a few USB-to-micro-USB cables, and I have power for my phone, my tablet (via the 2A connector), my Jam box, and my MHL-HDMI connector. And all of these can be used with any other phone that has a micro-USB/MHL connector (add in a micro-to-mini USB adapter and my old GPS puck and a few other devices can be charged too.)
If you just got your iPhone5, it would save your phone tons of battery life. So there’s a Metal Iphone 5 Case for upside. But I rather have one device. Only have 2 pockets, One for my phone, and the other for keys.
I wonder how they will keep this concept viable, though. Free forever isn’t exactly “profitable “That’s what I’m using but it only comes with 100 mins and 5 GB…100 mins I don’t usually go over but 5GBs I don’t even come close to reaching since I’m always on WIFI. So this system would give me much more flexibility in how I spend $30, but my normal usage will probably put me at $5-$10 a month if this was possible.
I can’t wait to ditch all cell phone companies, though. The internet and telecommunication should be a right to all citizens guaranteed by the law. “Android-compliant version of its gear was on the roadmap.”
That’s really useless since AT&T’s and VZW’s LTE and T-Mobile HSPA+ are already faster than WiMax. It’s not about speed; it’s about it being FREE. So you can add that to your ATT/VZW capped plans if you wanted to. Also there was nothing wrong with actual WiMAX speed; it was just poorly supported so it buckled under the heavy loads. There are millions of users on VZW or ATT who are not grandfathered… or who will be losing their grandfather’s unlimited with their next upgrade. Or those in sprint who won’t be getting LTE until next year, Or T-Mobile users who reach their high speed cap. Plenty of users uses for this. Useless is a strong word. That’s like saying my cable modem is useless since they have fiber service now.
Is there any other android alternative to the Iphone 5 that isn’t by Samsung? They need to update them with a dual or quad core. Might pick up the next Iphone and get an android phone. Even though that will defeat the entire purpose if why I got an iPhone 4s. So it would replace my Iphone 5. Maybe I should get an android iPod touch? There any coming out with 4.3-5 inch display?
This is working great for me. But I use a personal hotspot from clear wire, dumped AT&T that wasn’t working in my building anyway. Installed talkatone and use Google number to receive and make calls. Saving over 1000 already since the switch…. These companies are just ripping us off. It cost them almost nothing for voice services, almost nothing.

Apple is very smart, you don’t get $100,000,000,000 in the bank by being stupid, but if they are very, very smart, they would release the iPad mini, with all the colors of the iPod (which is what I am guessing by the announcement) and sell it for Kindle Fire/ Nexus 7 prices. One could argue that with that size, retina display, and the most robust ecosystem, there is no way that the Android tablets could compete. And we know that it doesn’t matter what the specs are, Apple loyalists don’t care about that. Price it correctly, and Android, Surface, etc. all, will just be a little slice on the whole tablet market. But if they are greedy, and go Scrooge McDuck, and want to keep hoarding cash, and price it in the $300 – $400 area, then Android will continue to linger.
I’m really interested in the Mini for travel and times when my wife has my iPad 2, but for me price is everything. I don’t think it will be as cheap as some predicted. With the new iPod touches STARTING at $350, how can they sell the Mini at the same price point or lower. I think a basic Mini with 16 GB, wifi only, A5, and no Retina will be $400. I just don’t see anything else making sense. Maybe an 8 GB for $350, but I think Apple painted themselves in the corner on this one.
A source familiar with making things up is reporting it will have a resistive 1900×1900 touch screen, run for 3 days powered by a tea light and have pen input(using post-it notes) To keep cost and weight down it will be made of recycled ham wallets and child intern tears. It’ll be priced at $100 and smell like bacon. Memory options will include 8 GB, 64 scrapbooks and short-term. It’ll run ios6 but act like it doesn’t give a hoot.
Also I’m expecting to see some other accessory announcements like an Iphone 5 Bumper Case. My guess is A6 processor 16GB storage, higher resolution than IP5 but less than IPad, and $50 more than iPod Touch. Yes, i assume we will have a 2 interval system, with the iPad always getting an upgraded processor vs. the mini, and the mini inheriting the iPhone’s processor.
I think we’re more likely to see a new iMac lineup here than a retina 13″ as well, but if anything, we’ll see both.

My girlfriend is an SLP and has worked with some pretty expensive gear to support children with special needs. The iPad is much cheaper in comparison and is much better in many respects outside of cost. Her major complaint is the home button which children will push (either on purpose or accidentally). Incidentally, in the next version of iOS, there are some new safeguards to disable the home button for this specific reason. Also, the state or insurance might pay for the device — you may not have to worry about the costs out of pocket. I know in Arizona, depending on the need, it is covered. It just might take some time to get the paperwork pushed through.
she is using an iphone with retina display in a Griffin Survivor iphone case (the best case she’s found so far). i don’t know all the programs she’s been using, but she also tells me she programs and sets up iphones for her clients.
LifeProof perfect for iphone, takes shocks of drops, waterproof, keeps dust and sand out, immerse iphone into water and CLEAN regularly as desired. Ideal for ALL kids, will turn your iphone into a learning device that helps bypass, work around, or compensate for an individual’s specific learning deficit. You will love it
According to leaks, it is not retina display, it is the resolution of the old iPad, and the size of the device (7.7 inch), seems to be calculated to make the same PPI as the iPhone 3GS before retina. According to leaks, the cheapest version will be 250 dollar, and the most expensive all the way up to 650 dollar The 250 dollar version starts with wifi only and 8 GB of storage.
It’s smart to announce this to capture holiday sales but at some point they will consolidate with iPad refresh- maybe they test market this and drop the price in the spring. I wish this was out last year as it would be a better fit for my son but we ended up with a full size iPad instead. Anyway, choices are good and apparently people love their colors.
The reason those Iphone 5 Bumper Cases are cheaper, is because they are made cheaper. It doesn’t matter if they are made with the Unreal Engine, or Super Unreal. Those cases are dumbed down. Compare Infinity Blade to Battlefield or CoD, and tell me that that same effort went into all cases equally. The iphone has sent gaming back several years. Sure some games are fun. But can no way compete with the quality of console cases. Right now that is.
There is no replacement for a big sensor used in a point and shoot, or better yet a 4/3 or DSLR. SE phones have come closest to getting an awesome sensor into a phone. My old W810i took fantastic pictures that rivaled the iPhone 3GS in bright conditions due to its large lens, but sucked balls in the dark. That thing is over 4 years old.
I’m not saying this iphone 5 bumper case is a good idea either, it’s stupid. However there is one valid argument here and that is being able to carry one device vs. two. Obviously if you want to take good pictures you use a real camera. That’s what I do, that’s what I’d expect anybody with some common sense to do.
If you put it on the top then your phone would be lower to the ground if you plug it into the wall. That would make it even hard to hit speaker or use a little while plugged in… Plus it will be more susceptible to the possibility of feet kicking it. As far as using in a power strip since the prongs are the same size and one is not larger than the other… well simply turn it around and have it facing out on the last plug on the strip…. therefor it will not be blocking any other plugs.
Of course it’s not useless. It’s a perfectly usable picture-taking device. The problem arises when people start to think that their cell phone is a viable replacement for a decent camera, which is apparently what Faction believes iPhone owners think (though hopefully they’re wrong). Interchangeable lenses! Do they think people are nuts enough to carry around a bag full of lenses to use on their iPhone?! What is this, some sort of DSLR alternative for dummies?! For the money you’d spend on the iPhone case and the lenses, wouldn’t it make just slightly more sense to buy a nice point-and-shoot, and save yourself the wasted time of swapping those oversized lenses at all? Hmm, easier to use, better image quality, more compact, no lenses to lose, and you won’t look like a complete moron! Tough decision, isn’t it?
You can just plug the case directly into an outlet. But this case is pretty massive; you aren’t actually losing any bulk by carrying this case instead of a charging cable. Also, the original problem was that it is hard to use the phone for anything while it is plugged into an outlet, which is why you need a cable with this case anyway.
