I shoot video on my iPhone 5 and am looking for a stand or Mercury Apple iPhone 5 Case combination to position the phone in landscape mode. The stand must be adjustable so I can tilt the angle forward and backward (in order to shoot both above and below the horizon). The iPhone wall charger puts out 5W at 1 amp, while the original iPad charger puts out 10W at 2.1 amps. The new charger stays at 2.1 amps, but ups it to 12W. It will charge any iOS device, and to some degree speed up charging older iPad, as well as iPhones and iPods.
The 10W, 2.1 amp charge requirement of the iPad (1st through current gen) is actually higher than the USB Battery Charging Specification allows for, which is why it’s often not possible to charge at full rate using most PCs. Apple actually sends more power through their USB ports allowing them to charge those devices. I use my iPad 2 chargers on my iphone 5 and it definitely charges a lot quicker. I imagine the same would be true for the new charger on the iphone 4s.
I’ve been searching, but little luck. I’m open to suggestions, including homemade solutions (though I’m worried that a homemade solution won’t be able to tilt). If there’s a good stand for iPhone 5, I’m even considering an early upgrade
Talk to the creative, the musicians, the performance artists, the VJs , real professional photographers, the people who live and breathe Apple (not stupid Fanboys with too much time on the internet seemingly needing to apologize for the world’s most successful company by many metrics)- they talk about the company with a bittersweet tone nowadays.
I mean, seriously. This was the company with awesome professional software and awesome people around… Logic. Shake. FCPS. (Sorry but Aperture has always been second-rate. Photographers use Lightroom/Capture One, but on Mac still)
And what do we have now? Hardware that has lost its truly amazing sense of gestalt (iPad Mini, iPod Nano, and even the Retinas- slightly feel out of proportion), real progress shrouded by the need to design to shock and awe instead of meeting real needs (Anorexic iMac), and an app ecosystem with a bunch of self-congratulating journalists and self-indulgent developers (Marco, Dustin et al).
If the PC was seen as a commoditization of hardware, an evil to be dodged from, the new Apple circle in parallel feels like a commoditization of arrogance.
